MIDSOMER MURDERS
DEAD MAN'S 11
DETAILED SYNOPSIS
Fletcher's Cross is preparing
itself for the annual cricket match against neighbouring village,
Midsomer Worthy when tragedy strikes and Tara Cavendish the wife of
local landowner and cricket captain, Robert Cavendish is discovered
murdered after taking their dog for a walk. Tara has been battered to
death with her step son's cricket bat.
DCI Tom Barnaby soon uncovers a number of people who are not above suspicion including Ian Frasier who used to be manager of Cavendish's quarry, Frasier's dotty wife Zelda who is chairman of the Fletcher's Cross Ramblers Association which has been forbidden to cross Cavendish land and the landowner's own son Stephen and his wife Jane. Other suspects include the born again Christians, Colin and Christine Cooper who seem to live way beyond their means.
Stephen Cavendish seems the most likely suspect, particularly when a second murder takes place in which a blackmail note typed by the victim is found in his wastepaper basket. Barnaby and Troy narrowly avoid having a third victim on the books when they finally link together the missing pieces of the case.
