A bloodcurdling brilliant new version of Bram Stoker's timeless novel adapted by award-winning writer Bryony Lavery. Enigmatic and terrifying, sensual yet deadly, the fearsome figure of Dracula continues to haunt and enthral us. As old as sin itself, the story's epic battle between good and evil, darkness and light, is one that has journeyed through the generations to the very heart of our modern-day world. Written in 1897, Bram Stoker's novel of sexual repression and Gothic terror is legendary. Count Dracula is one of the most powerful creations of horror ever conceived. This modern adaptation by Bryony Lavery (Tony Award nominee for 'Frozen') has been brought bang up to date and promises to scare audiences witless; entertain and enthral them with spectacle, sound and breathtaking magic...it will span centuries and challenge every preconception ever made about the legendary figure of ... DRACULA! Richard Bremmer takes the title role; with numerous credits to his name perhaps Richard's most famous role is that of He Who Shall Not Be Named or Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, he is joined by Christopher Cazenove as Van Helsing. Christopher's numerous include Dynasty and The Bill star Hywel Simons plays Van Helsing's ready assistant Dr Seward. They are joined by TV favourites Laura Howard, who plays John Nettles' daughter Cully Barnaby in Midsomer Murders and Casualty favourite Spencer, Ben Keaton as Mina Harker and Renfield. This very modern adaptation of Dracula is directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, one of the country's most highly regarded directors, and has one of The Magic Circle's top men, and Jonathan Creek special effects advisor Scott Penrose, working on the illusions.
