MIDSOMER FAQ
(Frequently asked Questions)

What car does Barnaby drive?

In the early episodes he drove a Ford Mondeo, then a Rover 75. From Series 9 onwards Barnaby drives a Jaguar X type.

What has happened to 'The Blood Point'?

Some preliminary work (i.e. pick-up shots) was certainly done on this episode. I have a couple of the call sheets. However, it seems, due to the plot bearing similarities to a real-life event, no more work was carried out.

What about the unexplained corpse in 'Electric Vendetta'?

If you have just watched 'Electric Vendetta' for the first time you will be puzzled by the fact that one of the bodies found in the crop circle (Eddie Field, the burglar) was never adequately explained. It appears that he electrocuted himself in the garage by accident and was later dumped in the circle by his accomplices. John Nettles has since admitted that the clarification of this was unfortunately lost in the editing of the episode.

Where is Causton?

Causton is only a fictional place, created by Caroline Graham. Several different places have been used by the production team in the series, in particular the town of Wallingford in Oxfordshire.

Whereabouts is Midsomer?

Again Midsomer is only a fictional place. In the series it is deemed a county which encompasses all the Midsomer villages, i.e. Midsomer Worthy, Midsomer Parva etc.

What was the last episode with Troy (Daniel Casey) in?

Troy's last episode was 'The Green Man'.

What episode did Orlando Bloom appear in?

Orlando played the part of a burglar, Peter Drinkwater, in 'Judgement Day'.
