Morgan - Alex Hanson
Patrick is an ex-city financier who retired to Midsomer. He's handsome and used to getting his own way. He's possessive towards his younger wife Nina and is president of the Midsomer-in-the-Marsh Ornithological Society (MMOS).
Nina Morgan - Genevieve O'Reilly
Nina Morgan, née Kustanova, is an ex-prima ballerina. A Russian émigré, she is lithe and beautiful but has a steely resolve about her. She longs to have a child.
Tim Whitley - Paul Bigley
A committee member of the MMOS and a single parent. Tim is slightly overweight, warm and likeable. He works as a computer technician.
Ralph Ford - James Dreyfus
A professional taxidermist and MMOS member. Ralph is a competitive, obsessive, offbeat character who lives on the edge.
George Napier - Tony Haygarth
A belligerent, hands-on farmer who resents 'townies'. He believes the land is a workplace, not a playground.
Dave Foxely - Paul Nicholls
Muscular handsome Foxely is a local ne'er-do-well who fancies himself as a boxer. He likes beer, women and money.
Michael Hipsman - Allan Corduner
An ex-orchestral oboe player and MMOS member. He runs an antiquarian bookshop and is quiet and unassuming.
Dr Ian Markham - Nicholas Boulton
The local GP and member of the MMOS. He's handsome, rather posh and somewhat full of himself.
Olivia Carter - Amanda Lawrence
The doctor's receptionist and MMOS member. A shapely woman with suppressed passion who is infatuated with Patrick Morgan.
Aimee Whitley - Ella Al-Khalil Coyle
Aimee is Tim's daughter, a rather plump but endearing girl who tries hard at ballet.
